A Romantic Getawayaway From The City Is Just What You Need.

There are beautiful cities and towns that are ideal for a romantic getaway in Portugal.. If you like the hustle bustle of the city and that is your idea of the perfect way to spend time with your sweetheart then a romantic break in Portugal would be described as a trip to Lisbon to stay in a luxury hotel or bed and breakfast.
If however, your idea of the perfect romantic weekend in Portugal is a quieter and more intimate experience then you would be well advised to think about travelling further north to visit the scenic and more rural area of the Silver Coast. There are some of the best tourist attractions to be found in Portugal on the Silver Coast and you can see them all easily from any of a number of good locations that are central.

You always have the choice of staying in your room to enjoy the peace and tranquillity that can be found there. No one would blame you for doing so, but when the weather is fine in the winter then it is far better to get out and explore the Silver Coast and its excellent variety of restaurants, historical towns and villages and the beaches are fabulous if the sun comes out. The Portuguese flock to the beach when the weather is warm and sunny in the winter even if only to watch the surfers learning and falling or riding the waves.
For a special romantic meal you could book a table at Mae D’Agua which is only five minutes from the Buddha Eden and five minutes from Bombarral. Their restaurant is a cut above the average eatery and the food is devine if you are prepared to spend a little more than you would have to in normal restaurants.
In a single day, you could see the medieval village of Obidos, stare in awe at the granite statues and the garden of peace that is Buddha Eden and see the excellent ceramics museum in Caldas Da Rainha…all before ending up at Mae D’Agua for dinner. There is also the possibility of a wine tasting tour of the Quinta Do Sanguinhal quality wine producers if you are interested in the regions excellent wine, although it would be sensible to do that on a separate day!
The Vineyard Retreat English Bed and Breakfast is perfectly located to be close to all these places and many more. They welcome couples who want to get away from it all and by prior arrangement, would be happy to provide champagne breakfasts and any other little touches that would make your romantic break that bit more special. The tariffs for these special breaks are only available by request.
